The taverna *”I Vengiera” (Η Βεγγιέρα) serves its own tangy mizithra cheese early in the year: it is capable of auto locomotion if left on the plate too long. It has excellent local amber-coloured sea-salty wine on request, as well as good homemade keftedakia of meat and home-grown vegetables. This is a good place to sample the island”s famous fava.
